Cameron Bailey, CEO of TIFF, has been a pivotal figure in bringing Indian cinema to the global stage. For over 15 years, Bailey has travelled to Mumbai every monsoon, scouting talent and connecting Indian filmmakers with international markets. His efforts have led to the selection of over 80 Indian films at TIFF, making Toronto a premier destination for Indian cinema outside of India.
“What I love about India is that it is the world’s most film-passionate country. You can talk to anyone in this country, and everyone has an opinion about films. This is not the case anywhere else in the world,” Bailey shared in an earlier conversation. His passion for movies and commitment to Indian filmmakers have transformed TIFF into a key platform for showcasing India’s cinematic excellence.
