Animae Caribe House, a Caribbean animation studio, is partnering with PowerKids Entertainment, one of Asia’s fastest-growing animation Studio, to produce Champions of the Galaxy, a $5 million animated franchise targeting cricket’s 2.5 billion global fans.
The partnership marks a shift in how animated content gets produced and distributed. The two companies are combining Caribbean creative talent with PowerKids’ distribution network across 160+ territories, including partnerships with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and major broadcasters.
Champions of the Galaxy is a sci-fi series centered on cricket, positioned for OTT platforms, merchandise, gaming, and brand partnerships. The project targets investor pitches in early 2026, with production completion by late 2026 to early 2027.
Cricket’s rise in streaming and franchise leagues has created audience demand that traditional animation studios overlooked. This alliance aims to capture viewership across India, the Caribbean, Pakistan, Australia, and the UK.
Camille Selvon Abrahams, CEO of Animae Caribe House and founder of the 24-year-old Animae Caribe Festival, explained the strategic value: “This partnership represents the maturation of Caribbean creative capacity. We have built world-class talent networks and festival infrastructure. PowerKids brings the distribution machinery and global relationships that transform regional talent into international IP. Together, we are proving that animation production leadership doesn’t require Silicon Valley validation.”
Manoj Mishra, CEO of PowerKids Entertainment, added: “PowerKids is incredibly proud to collaborate with Animae Caribe and the legendary Dwayne Bravo on this high-octane series. Cricket is one of the most-watched sports worldwide, and this series captures that spirit of courage, imagination and heroism. We are excited to take this story to global audiences and redefine how animated sports adventures are experienced.”
Dwayne Bravo, a two-time T20 World Cup champion and creative consultant on the project, brings both athletic credibility and youth culture reach through his DJ Bravo persona. His anthem “Champion” has over 100 million streams and 1.6 million YouTube views.
On the project’s purpose, Bravo stated: “Growing up, cricket was not just a sport. For me, it was a way to dream, to believe that the little boy from Santa Cruz, Trinidad, could one day make it to the world stage. And that’s what this is all about—Showing our kids that their stories, their voices, matter. We are doing that through animation, music and gaming.”
The creative leadership reflects a deliberate global distribution of expertise. Camille Selvon Abrahams, founder of the Animae Caribe Festival and architect of Caribbean animation infrastructure, serves as Creator and Executive Producer, bringing 24 years of industry-building credentials.
Bruno Zarka, a global entertainment strategist with credits spanning Masha and The Bear (the world’s most-watched animated series), Film Roman (The Simpsons legacy), and Panini Group licensing powerhouse, anchors creative and IP strategy.
Alice Dizon Manuel, a 25+ year animation veteran with 400+ episode production credits across Cartoon Network, Disney, and Hasbro, manages production logistics.
Wendy Fitzwilliam, Miss Universe 1998 and entertainment executive producer, rounds out the team, bringing celebrity visibility and audience development expertise.
This alliance demonstrates how regional animation hubs can now compete globally by combining authentic creative infrastructure with strong distribution partners. Rather than extracting content from regional producers, PowerKids and Animae Caribe are building a mutual production pipeline designed for both Western broadcasters and South Asian streaming platforms.
For the animation industry, this represents a move toward decentralized production leadership, where regional studios with credible talent networks can achieve global scale.
