Adopt, Don’t Shop: ‘Oslo’ to Wag a Heartfelt Message at IFFI

With Oslo’s story, IFFI audiences will be reminded: real companionship is rescued, not purchased. Every adoption is a promise—of love, healing, and a better world.

In an era where transactions often outweigh true connection, Oslo: A Tail of Promise stands out as a tender, urgent call for empathy and adoption. Premiering at IFFI Goa on November 25, this compelling film is at the heart of the Shared Planet Movement—an initiative dedicated to sparking compassion for animals and the environment.

Oslo traces the extraordinary companionship between a wise Siberian Husky and Pooja R Bhale, environment educator and founder of Protecterra Ecological Foundation. Arriving in Pooja’s life as a traumatised puppy, Oslo’s journey with her becomes a story of healing, courage, and unconditional love.

Pooja reflects, “I believe that Oslo adopted me rather than me adopting him. When an animal adopts you, you’re not rescuing them—they’re rescuing you. This film exists because Oslo changed my life. I hope people understand that the greatest companionship you’ll ever have is with an animal you give a home to.”

Director Isha Pungaliya doesn’t just frame Oslo as a documentary, but as a legacy—an invitation to consider the emotional intelligence and transformative power animals bring into human lives. “Oslo: A Tail of Promise is a conversation starter. I wanted to make a film about our relationship with the greater world, not just human stories,” she shares.

Presented by John Abraham and produced by Minnakshi Das (JA Entertainment), Protecterra Ecological Foundation, and Amey Gosavi (Vaanar Nirmit), Oslo: A Tail of Promise finds its perfect audience at IFFI—a festival where stories of heart and hope take center stage.
