From real-time feedback to daily film production, AI is poised to revolutionize the entertainment industry, but careful regulation remains key.
At the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Sudipta Bhattacharya, CEO of Adani Group, and film producer Mahaveer Jain discussed the impact of AI on the entertainment industry. Bhattacharya predicted that AI would be a replacement in the short term, gathering real-time feedback from around 500 individuals to create the best plots.
He also predicted that AI could enable the production of one film every day in the coming decades.
Bhattacharya highlighted the need for a great lab to create films, as AI could replace physical infrastructure, set ups, cameras, and scripts. He also raised concerns about the pros and cons of AI and the need for potential restrictions to maintain balance.
He cited the example of cryptocurrency and noted that countries with excessive restrictions often lag behind in progress. However, he cautioned about the delicate nature of regulation and the need for governments to carefully evaluate and take thoughtful steps.
In conclusion, Bhattacharya reaffirmed the inevitable rise of AI and the transformative changes it will bring, acknowledging the loss of certain jobs but expressing confidence in humanity’s ability to create new opportunities. The session ended on an optimistic note, envisioning a future shaped by artificial intelligence.
