The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) witnessed a spectacular crescendo as the Waves Film Bazaar 2025 wrapped up its five-day celebration, igniting fresh momentum in the world of independent filmmaking.

The closing ceremony—marked by an outpouring of creativity, powerful partnerships, and global collaboration—heralded not just the achievements of today but the promise of an even more ambitious future.

A Platform for Visionaries

Backed by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), the Waves Film Bazaar has matured into one of Asia’s most dynamic market spaces for independent filmmakers. This year, the Bazaar drew luminaries from across the spectrum: filmmakers, funders, industry leaders, and emerging talents.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Ajay Nagabhushan (Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting), Dr. K. K. Nirala, NFDC MD Prakash Magdum, Advisor Jerome Paillard, IFFI Festival Director Shekhar Kapur, and cinematic icons Rajkumar Hirani, Sriram Raghavan, and Rachel Griffiths.
