The professional accreditation for the Cannes Film Market 2020 in virtual format will go live on May 13 (Wednesday). The world’s biggest film market in online format resembling as close to the traditional market will take place from June 22 to June 26. The registration can be done at the Cannes Film Market’s official website www.marchedufilm.com by clicking “myaccount”.
Accreditation for the Marché du Film Online will be available only for industry professionals at an early bird rate of €95 until May 29 and €195 normal rate after that including one-year subscription to Cinando, the networking platform of the market.
The Cannes Film Market in virtual format will include most of the things that one had experienced at the physical market. In traditional market there were booths or stalls in Palais, Riveria and Lerins. In the virutal market, the booth will be something similar to a webpage. The booth in virtual market is restricted to existing exhibitors (sales companies) of Marche and not to new exhibitors. The sales agents will be able to connect with buyers and to display their new films and projects-in-progress at a dedicated online booth (web page in Marche du Film). In the web page, sales companies will be able to showcase and list films, videos, visuals and promotional materials.
Sales companies will be able to screen recent and new films. Intelligently, Marche has planned to have virtual film screenings on a set schedule and will not be on-demand screenings. Live streaming of the films will be slotted for time zones in USA, Europe and Asia. The idea is to make buyers watch films followed with sales meetings via Zoom video conferencing. Similarly, the panels and conferences will also be live streamed.
Like in the physical market, people registered as industry professionals have to fix online meeting using the Cinando platform writing mails.
Similar to Country Pavilions in the Village International, Institutions will be able to mirror their national cinema in the virtual market. Institutions will be able to design their own national pavilion web page and promote activities, conferences, screen films, do one-to-one meetings and use the Cinando Networking Platform tools.
The Cannes Film Market will have its official online edition of its daily Market News.
Pickle will have its 14th consecutive edition for the virtual Cannes Film Market in online format as well as daily newsletters. For more information related to Cannes Film Market write to us at pickle@pickle.co.in or call 91 9324516661.
