The government is sharpening its pitch to international and domestic producers by positioning India as a one-stop, film-friendly hub for global shoots, backed by India Cine Hub.
The India Cine Hub (ICH) is a single-window online portal that allows domestic and international filmmakers to apply for filming permissions and scout locations across the country. Described as a gateway to India’s diverse landscapes, ICH helps producers identify filmic and non-filmic resources and discover locations from heritage-rich Mithila and Nalanda to the culturally vibrant Gaya and beyond.
Presented in the Rajya Sabha by Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to make India a preferred global shooting destination by simplifying processes and integrating services.
India Cine Hub has been designed to make filming in India easier, faster and more attractive for global storytellers by bringing permissions, locations and key production resources onto a single digital platform. ICH helps producers identify filmic and non-filmic resources and discover locations from heritage-rich Mithila and Nalanda to the culturally vibrant Gaya and beyond.
By streamlining clearances, mapping incentives and centralising production resources, ICH strengthens India’s positioning in the competitive global locations market, offering studios and streamers both scale and variety on a single portal.
