Canadian and international film industry leaders will provide valuable guidance as TIFF plans ambitious Content Market from next year
At the ongoing Berlinale 2025, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has unveiled the formation of a Global Advisory Committee for its upcoming TIFF Content Market, set to launch in 2026.
The committee comprises seven prominent leaders from the global entertainment industry: Niv Fichman, Vincent Maraval, Jérôme Paillard, Noah Segal, Monique Simard, Roeg Sutherland, and Kerry Swanson. Additional members will be announced in the coming weeks.
The newly established committee will offer strategic insights and industry expertise to shape the highly anticipated TIFF Content Market. Funded by a landmark $23 million CAD investment from the Government of Canada and supported by Telefilm Canada, this initiative aims to expand TIFF’s role as a global leader in screen-based storytelling.
The market will serve as a premier North American hub for the buying and selling of screen-based projects, intellectual property, and immersive content across multiple platforms. It will also support sustainable industry growth while elevating both Canadian and international talent on the world stage.
“As TIFF marks its 50th edition this year, we are looking ahead to the next 50 years with a bold vision for expanding our commitment to the global screen industry,” said Anita Lee, Chief Programming Officer at TIFF. “The TIFF Content Market is the natural evolution of an organization that has played an integral role in bringing visibility to some of the best Canadian and international films and series over the past five decades. The guidance of the deeply respected members of this international Advisory Committee will be key to realizing this ambitious initiative, cementing Toronto as a leading destination for industry collaboration and content distribution.”
The TIFF Content Market is expected to become a key industry event, fostering innovation, distribution opportunities, and global partnerships within the entertainment sector.
